Enjoy the Holidays With These Fun Activities and Events!
The excitement felt by many people during the holiday season can be contagious and we’re starting to feel the infectious joy that the holidays bring so many people. It’s a season of giving, quality time with our friends and loved ones and a time to reflect on what we’re grateful for. This time of year also breeds, continues or adds on to the many traditions that surround the holidays. These traditions can be meals, gift exchanges, holiday parties or even activities and events to experience with our loved ones.
We thought sharing some of our favorite holiday activities and events with you all, as we get further into the month of December, would be a great way to kick off the month. Some may think that as the temperatures drop, the amount of experiences to be had drops as well. We’re here to tell you that there is plenty to do during the holidays!
Christmas lights are a big deal for many people in the Treasure Valley and beyond. There are numerous displays to choose from and it seems like we have more choices every year! If you haven’t already been to the Scentsy headquarters in Meridian, go check it out! They have wrapped 450 trees with over 43 miles of lights! On December 11th and 12th, next Monday and Tuesday, they are hosting the free Point of Lights Event from 6 to 8:30 PM. It will feature festive music, warm beverages and their mesmerizing light display, we heard Santa might even stop by for the young ones!
Winter Garden Aglow is also a wonderful tradition in Boise. Each year we go at least once to see the 380,000 lights, the Polar Express model train and to support a local nonprofit. The lights seem to envelop every plant, tree, shrub and bush at the garden which creates an atmosphere that’s sure to excite everyone, no matter who you are. We are currently giving away 4 tickets to Winter Garden Aglow, you can enter on our Facebook or our website!
Each year downtown Caldwell transforms into a winter wonderland, one we experienced for the first time last weekend. The lights in Caldwell were incredible to say the least, we can’t imagine how long it took to set up but we’re glad someone was willing to do that for our enjoyment! The best part of the lights in Caldwell, they’re free! It’s a great activity for a family on a budget or anyone that loves Christmas lights. You can also find a list of Treasure Valley Christmas light displays here.
